TIMM offers bus fleet, technology for Transantiago
TIMM submitted an offer to the Chilean government to provide the services thats are necessary for the Inefficient, Failed of capital Santiago’s integrated public bus system Transantiago.
AFT technological operator problems
TIMM president Roberto Sone, said “Transantiago administrator AFT’s technological operator a consortium formed by companies Sonda and the Chilean unit of Japanese hardware company NEC Corporation - has failed and strayed from the truth repeatedly, leading to the plan’s failure…”
The Failure History:
The Japanese company NEC purchased the TIMM franchise - owned by Sone and Mexican business tycoon Carlos Slim; to sell its technology in Latin America. The system was approved for Colombia’s Transmilenio system, for the one developed in Brazilian city Curitiba, and for a prototype of the technological system in Argentina.
In February 2005, Roberto Sone was informed that NEC Japan would not provide the deposit for the financial guarantees necessary for the system’s implementation in Chile. In exchange, Sonda offered to provide them, becoming a new partner in the consortium that would submit a bid for the Transantiago system. At the same time, Sone traveled to Japan, where he learned NEC Chile had requested a US$32mn guarantee from NEC Japan, instead of the US$4mn guarantee required by the concession contract, and thus, the company’s headquarters discarded the possibility of providing the guarantee.
This was used as excuse to open the door for Sonda involvement in the bid.
TIMM Proposal
TIMM proposal is close to US$800mn covers the lacking number of vehicles for the system’s optimum operation, also replace the number of old vehicles that were fixed up and repainted by bus operators instead of replaced with new ones.

Imposible que dejen a TIMM colocar su solución, ni gratis !!!!! ya que echaría por tierra todas las trenzas y los apitutados de siempre no recibirían su cvy (como voy yo?) ya todo está mas arreglado que mesa de cumpleaños, puedo apostar que aún que regalen los buses el ministro buscará la forma de hacer a un lado a cualquier que no este dentro de las trenzas de la concertación.
